New Barbie

This young lady is the latest addition to my Barbie family. She's fully poseable so she probably will feature heavily in my 365 project!

She needs a wee bit of tinkering with though, the pink puffball dress (and no underwear!!) is not a good look!

Zooooooooooooooom

Where is this year going? Can someone please put it on pause for me so I can get caught up????

I've been embarrassingly behind in my 365 project. I’m just about caught up but a bit alarmed to see that I still have gaps to fill. Guess what I’ll be doing tonight then!!

It was my mam and dad’s 49th wedding anniversary last week. This is the card I made for them.

The card was inspired by Creativity Magazine and I used the Forever Friends Pink Parfait papers and decoupage that I got as a free gift from a magazine subscription! My mam (who is an extremely clever card maker) was very impressed!

I think I’d better start working on the card for their Golden anniversary next year now as I’m hoping to do an exploding card and it just might take me forever and a day……watch this space!!

When I was about 8, I remember informing my mam (in the middle of a crowded shop) that I'd been working things out and had come to the conclusion that she and my dad had not been married long enough!! My mam was mortified and asked how I had come to this conclusion. Well, I explained, I'm 8 and my Big Brother is 12, That makes 20 and you and dad have only been married for 14 years! Well, it made perfect sense to me!!

This is an ATC I made for a recent swap. It was quite hard to let this one go as it really grew on me. The lady I’m swapping with will probably have her arms folded and will be tapping her feet as (surprise!) I’m late in posting but, well, at the end of the day, better late than never eh?

This week also saw me having a job interview for a permanent position at the company where I work at the moment on a temporary contract. All I can say is that I found it hideously embarrassing to be interviewed by people I already sort of work with. I had one of those interviews where you say everything you don’t want to and nothing that you’d planned. *Cringe!!* I suppose at least I made them laugh when they asked for my strengths and weaknesses and I said chocolate was my greatest weakness!!

Full of Busy

I've had quite a productive day for once!

I've signed up for a couple of swaps and decided to roll my sleeves up and get cracking. These are what I came up with so far:-

The first two are for a Fave Drinks partnered swap. I've used images from a Joanna Sheen cd that my lovely mam bought me a while ago. There's a bit of sparkle going on there but you can't really see in the photos.

The next one is a postcard for a swap on flickr. For this one I had to make a handmade postcard with a springtime theme. I bought the latest Crafts Beautiful magazine last night and was very taken with the bunny templates so this was what I ended up with:-

Now I'd best get started on the two Easter ATCs I need for my swap, plus another Mother's Day card (from the pets) and an anniversary card for my parents!!

Another first

Just thought, my Mother's Day card also marks the first anniversary of my cardmaking! This time last year I didn't possess a single punch or rubber stamp and I'd never heard of ATCs!! What a difference a year makes!!

This is the Mother's Day card I made last year.

Mother's Day Easel Card

This card has actually give me three firsts:-

1. The first time I've actually used rubber stamps to create a "proper" card rather than just to decorate envelopes!

2. The first time I've made an easel card.

3. The first time I have nearly missed Mother's Day!!

Seriously, I didn't have a clue. I knew it was coming up but was oblivious about the date until my pal mentioned it at work yesterday. Phew, thank goodness she did!!!

I had a few trials and tribulations stamping wise but I think I got there in the end. I have real problems with stray specks of embossing powder. I don’t have an anti static bag but I was told that tumble dryer sheets work just as well, although the ones I have don’t seem to.

Anyway, I enjoyed making the card and hope that my lovely mam likes it! Let me know what you think :-)

Baby Ollie

I was rooting through some old photos tonight and came across a bunch of "lost" Ollie photos from when he was just a few months old.  Looks like he was just entering his "snappy yappy" phase. He's never been one for barking as such but he certainly used to make a lot of doggy noise and chew lots of fingers during that phase!!

The jumper I'm wearing in the photos is still my favourite house jumper best part of 10 years later, even though its now looking a bit worse for wear - me too probably!!

Peace (for now)

After the "excitement" of the last couple of weeks, the beginning of March has so far been rather uneventful.

I managed to survive without my car until Tuesday night and I am now a large number of pounds poorer.

My lovely mam bought me some Kanban cupcake clear stamps at a craft show she was at last weekend. They are fab! I'm not the world's best rubber stamperist, as I'm still very new to it. I had a go last night but managed to smudge the ink so I'm going to have another go this afternoon. I think I'll emboss as well this time and that might keep me right.

The cats have been driving me bonkers this morning. It's been Marmite's turn to have his naughty button stuck in overdrive and Kevin has been joining in big time! Marmite honestly does think that my primary function on this earth is  to go to bed on demand so that he can come and have cuddles and my secondary function is to feed him 90 times a day. He gets so huffy when I go upstairs and don't go to bed! As I type he is up there in the huff. I've tried explaining to him that lying in bed having cuddles all day is all very nice and I could make a very successful career of it; however, it would not earn me sufficient pennies to keep him in tuna!!

Ok, I've tidied up (a bit) and had some yummy leek and potato soup so its back to stamping practice!!

Or I could have a little cuddle and snooze..............................
