Big Sloppy Ear Kiss

Another photo originally linked from Flickr which was having problems! I tried to edit it and ended up deleting it! I'm not having a very good day!

Deranged Dog in the Snow

Ol enjoying a game of tug of war in the snow. I did originally link this direct from flickr but it only showed part of the photo for some strange reason.....

Happy Birthday Dad!

It's my lovely Dad's birthday today.

I'm going round there shortly and have lots of goodies for him! I got him the Hairy Bikers' cookery book (he's a dab hand in the kitchen!), a book of quotes from Dads' Army and a yummy chocolate cake. I also made him a sherry trifle and some truffles. this is the recipe for the truffles:-

4 trifle sponge fingers or 4oz left over cake
2 oz plain or milk chocolate
1 tsp jam (apricot is best)
orange juice or spirit as required
chocolate vermicelli or cocoa powder to finish

Grate or liquidise cake/sponge fingers and add to melted chocolate. Add jam and enough juice (or booze) to make a fairly stiff paste. Roll into small balls and coat in vermicelli or cocoa .

Easy peasy and incredibly yum! I find a drop or two of southern comfort or whisky adds a nice depth to the flavour and for the chocolate I use orange Bourneville.

I found the recipe on an internet forum but I can't remember where!

Frustration

I so wish I was a better artist!

I have some fab ideas but when it comes down to it, they just don't look right on paper.

How good would it be if you could photograph the images from inside your mind? Actually that would probably be incredibly scary in some cases.

Along the same lines, a dream recorder wouldn't go amiss either. Imagine being able to replay them to your hearts content - fantastic!

I read a book once that, I think, involved something similar. I'm sure it was called One of Us by Michael Marshall Smith. I've got the urge to re-read it now but of course I sold it on ebay a few years ago!

The Sum Of All Crafts: Steam Punk Meets Zetti

The Sum Of All Crafts: Steam Punk Meets Zetti

I was looking for some Zetti images and came across these - wow!! I'm so impressed. I did try to leave a comment on Valerie's blog but the silly thing was playing up and wouldn't let me. There is something so endearingly creepy about them :-)

Neglected!

My poor blog is being neglected! I've been preoccupied with my 365 photo project, which is actually going ok. I nearly forgot to take a picture today though - oopsy! Its actually quite hard to come up with something new every day. I greatly admire those of my arty crafty friends who are doing similar things with ATCs - good on you!!! If you want to see my pictures, click on my flickr button.

I'm very pleased that the snow has now gone and hopefully that's the last we'll see of it for this year!

It happened again............

Someone stole the weekend!! I wish whoever keeps doing it would stop!!

The snow has kept me inside but for all I've wanted to do lots of crafting, I haven't really done any. I have made a birthday card for a friend, which makes me feel a little better!

There's an ATC swap I'm fancying joining in - a cupcake one (mmmmmmmm) so I might get busy over the week. Surely I can manage to produce 3 cupcake cards? We'll see.

One of my friends sent me a text yesterday. What you have to do is describe the person who sent it to you in one word that starts with the 3rd letter of your own name. Its harder than it sounds!! My friends used the following words to describe me, Nutty/Nice, Awesome, Amazing, Articulate/Aromatic (!!), Excellent, Enjoyable and Responsive!! The ones I had for them weren't so good: Loopy/Loyal, Luscious, Luvverly, Lovable, Lusterous and erm Lambourghiniish (don't ask!!). Try it with your friends - its a good laugh!

More snow

Well, a week on we still have snow. The novelty quickly wore off when I was stuck at work until 7pm Tuesday night and then on Wednesday it took me 2 hours to drive 11 miles home. I can live with the cold but not the driving conditions!

I also worry about all the wildlife out there. I'm more aware than I used to be now as my two youngest cats, Kevin and Betty, were feral kittens. I wonder what has happened to all of their relations? I haven't seen any cats round there for ages. Maybe they have moved on or maybe the neutering programme has wiped them out. Wherever they are, I hope they have somewhere to shelter and something to eat. Poor little things.

I haven't had time to do much in the way of crafting or blogging this week. I'm busy enveloping up some cards for a swap and I'm making sure I tape the edges of the envelopes after a recent disaster where someone received an empty envelope from me.

Its been a very long week and I'm very pleased its the weekend!

Happy 2010!

Happy New Year everyone!

We had lots of snow last night! We took Ollie for his traditional New Year Walk and came back looking like abominable snow creatures!! We didn't stay out very long. Himself had planned on taking lots of photos but the snow was coming down a bit too thick and fast.

Off to my parents for dinner tonight, its nice to be spoiled every now and again! I hope the roads are a bit more drivable than they were last night!
Update: The roads are looking very dodgy. I'm taking Ol over to the park to assess the driving situation. Might end up having to stay at home...........
